Prices of stringed instruments, as with everything else, are largely influenced by price histories, by demand and supply, and to an extent by personal taste. The lower left corner of the inner bout on the back has been replaced and the workmanship on this repair is superb. The scroll is of somewhat plain wood, elegant, but could be better balanced.

I thought that it might be an optical illusion, but on measuring at the join between the body and neck, the G-string side is 1/4 inch higher from body to fingerboard.
