I can't get a PS3 online due to having dial up, so my best bet is downloading them on PC. Can I download them by PC, shove 'em on a USB stick and install them on the PC?
No doubt I could download them, as everything is on the internet somewhere.
Here's how to do it: Step two: Create a folder on the drive titled "PS4" -- no spaces.
Step three: Inside of the PS4 folder, create a folder named "UPDATE" in all caps.
Since the new blank drive will not contain system software, using this technique should allow for a manual system software update.
Although Internet access is required for a majority of the PS4’s features, many users will need to setup and configure their device without broadband access.
The PS4 has been out in the wild for over three years now, and if you’ve yet to upgrade, now is the perfect time.
For example, you may be required to do this after you do a hard drive upgrade since the system software is saved to the hard drive. The Sony PS4 requires a patch to the system during setup to enable several features such as Blu-ray movie playback and other online/social features. The PS4 can be updated via the XMB and System Update options. There are two methods for installing the update: directly onto an Internet-connected Play Station 4 or with a USB flash drive. The latter can be utilized for those who don't have an Internet connection readily available.
