The pair - who have been seeing one another off and on since 2007 - reportedly started arguing in a car in Beverly Hills on the afternoon of August 17 after Cassie said she wanted to break off their romance.According to TMZ, the rapper grabbed Cassie's phone and start scrolling through it as they were driving home, and once they stopped, he jumped out of the vehicle with the phone and she went away with the driver.Arriving separately on the red carpet at the star-studded event before taking their seats together, the tumultuous pair certainly dressed to impress for the occasion.The star, real name Sean Combs, certainly looked dressed to impress in an all-black ensemble of a kimono-style jacket, T-shirt, trousers and velvet shoes; he rounded off his look with a generous array of golden medallions.Dressed down in sweats and a robe, Combs and Cassie lounged at home with eye masks and hot tea, prepping for a night of fashion, high-wattage performances, and lots of posing.(Good thing Cassie got her red carpet pout and leg-pop practices in immediately after slipping on her voluminous black On Aura Tout Vu gown, Christian Louboutin heels, and Judith Leiber skull clutch.) After twirling around the couple’s living room to make sure everything was right, the singer joined her man Diddy, dressed in a Rick Owens suit and patent leather Louboutin shoes, and headed to the museum.
Cassie has modeled for Calvin Klein one Ryan Leslie produced most of the album, which is a mix of R&B/hip hop/pop.
During this time, Diddy heard "Me & U" in a club, and Leslie convinced him to partner his Bad Boy Records with Leslie's Next Selection imprint for the release of Cassie's debut album.
Cassie's self titled debut studio album was released in August 2006, peaking at number four on the Billboard 200 chart and features the Billboard Hot 100 top three hit "Me & U", which became a major hit in 2006.
She began work on her second studio album in 2007 releasing three singles; "Official Girl" featuring Lil Wayne in August 2008, "Must Be Love" featuring Diddy in April 2009, and "Let's Get Crazy" featuring Akon in August 2009, which all failed to chart in the USA, in late 2009 Cassie signed a record deal with Interscope Records.
On April 11, 2013 Cassie released her debut mixtape Rocka Bye Baby, which was promoted with the release of "Numb" featuring Rick Ross and "Paradise" featuring Wiz Khalifa.
